Complete dentures usually will require several visits and can take between 2 to 3 weeks to produce. In an emergency we can usually expedite this process.
If you have dentures fitted immediately after the removal of teeth, the gums and bone will alter in shape quickly and the dentures will probably need relining or remaking after 3 to 6 months.
Partial dentures are intended to replace missing teeth by filling in the gaps within your smile. They come in various materials such as plastic, nylon, or metal, with a set of false teeth attached to a plate.
These dentures are typically designed to fit around your existing natural teeth, providing stability and support. Metal clasps are often used to securely hold the partial denture in place within your mouth. They can be easily unclipped and removed for cleaning or as needed.
In some cases, the clips used to secure the partial denture may be made of a tooth or gum coloured material for aesthetic purposes. However, these types of clips may not always be suitable as they can be more prone to breakage compared to metal clasps.
Metal partial dentures are typically crafted from an alloy of cobalt and chromium. They offer numerous advantages over acrylic dentures, primarily due to their superior strength and reduced bulkiness. Chrome dentures can be designed to be much smaller, thinner, and less conspicuous, while still maintaining excellent durability compared to traditional acrylic alternatives.
One notable benefit of chrome dentures is their ability to expose more of the palate, which can improve speech clarity and enhance the ability to taste foods.
While the base of these dentures is composed of chrome, artificial teeth are attached to the metal framework using acrylic. Moreover, natural teeth can provide additional retention for chrome dentures through the use of clasps. Additionally, natural teeth play a crucial role in distributing the load and stress exerted on the denture, contributing to overall greater stability and comfort for the wearer.
Flexible dentures are a modern alternative to traditional rigid dentures, offering increased comfort and aesthetics for dental patients. Made from a flexible thermoplastic material such as nylon or a thermoplastic resin, these dentures are lightweight, durable and biocompatible.

Stephan is amazing - he came in late one day after my mother had to have a tooth removed, so he added one to her plate. Stephan explain she would benefit from a denture that fitted!
Stephan took careful care to ensure this would fit her and then make eating safe, my mother has dementia so is not the easiest person to help.
